Atom BB, 2008-2009 (Saugeen Shores Minor Hockey)

After a pair of games over the weekend, the Saugeen Shores BDO Dunwoody Atoms have tied their OMHA playoff series against Collingwood. On Saturday afternoon, the teams faced off at the Plex. The hometown crowd wasn’t able to get the team going as they lost 4-0 to a much hungrier Collingwood squad.

Last Wednesday, the BDO Dunwoody Atoms traveled to Kincardine for the last game of the regular season. The Storm had not won against the Kinucks all season so were looking for a little revenge. In what would turn out to be their strongest game of the year, the boys pulled out a convincing win by a score of 8-3. Hayden Duplantis led the team with 3 goals and 3 assists. Eric Langridge added two goals, with Paul Leger, Harrison Alvarez and Michael Fiegehen adding singles. Adding assists for the Storm were Tristan Rajendra with 5, Michael Fiegehen with 3, and Paul Leger with a single.

The BDO Dunwoody Atoms played two games over the weekend and finished off with a win and a loss. On Friday night, the Storm was up against Kincardine at the Coliseum in Southampton. The weather outside was frightful but the team play inside was delightful…for most of the game anyway. The home team got on the board first when Michael Fiegehen scored on assists from Eric Langridge and Tristan Rajendra. The BDO Dunwoody Atoms played in a tournament in Fergus last weekend and came away with a 1-1-1 record just falling short of an appearance in the championship final. The first game was played on Friday morning against the Centre Wellington Minor A team. The Storm played a consistent game throughout but in the end lost by a score of 4-1. Scoring the lone goal on an unassisted play was Eric Langridge who also earned the MVP for the game.
