BDO Dunwoody Atoms display strong team play in Fergus - written by Christine Flarity
The BDO Dunwoody Atoms played in a tournament in Fergus last weekend and came away with a 1-1-1 record just falling short of an appearance in the championship final. The first game was played on Friday morning against the Centre Wellington Minor A team.  The Storm played a consistent game throughout but in the end lost by a score of 4-1.  Scoring the lone goal on an unassisted play was Eric Langridge who also earned the MVP for the game.

The second game came early Saturday morning against Listowel.  The Cyclones had previously beaten the Storm twice during the regular season so the boys were looking for a little revenge.  And they got it, thanks to a total team effort with the score 6-3 for the Storm.  Strong defense by Chris Gilbert and Paul Leger enabled the team to stay in the Listowel zone for much of the game.  Scoring for the team was Michael Fiegehen with 2, and Tyler Donaldson, Harrison Alvarez, Michael Bohnert and Eric Langridge adding singles.  Assisting on the goals for the Storm were Langridge, Bohnert and Alvarez.  Tough play along the boards by Tristan Rajendra and Hayden Duplantis kept the Cyclones away from the puck for most of the third period.  The player of the game for the Storm was Michael Bohnert.

The final game was played at the end of the day Saturday with Saugeen Shores

facing off against the Centre Wellington Major A team.  The team needed a win to get into the finals but came up just short, tying the game 3-3.  Jack Flarity was strong throughout the game, especially in the second, making several saves to keep his team in the match.  Scoring for the Storm was Harrison Alvarez, Eric Langridge and Brendan Morano.  Morano also added two assists and was named player of the game.

Next up for the BDO Dunwoody Atoms is a home game in Southampton on Friday night against Kincardine.
