BDO Dunwoody Atoms back to their winning ways
The Saugeen Shores BDO Dunwoody Atoms finally got back on track this weekend with a win after suffering back-to-back losses last weekend. Last Saturday, the Storm faced the Goderich Sailors at the Plex. The boys had difficulty getting together as a team and as a result, lost 5-2 to the Sailors in their first meeting of the season. Scoring for the Storm were Eric Langridge and Harrison Alvarez, both on unassisted plays.

On Sunday, the team was back in action against the Seaforth Stars. The boys played a much better game, even managing to come back in the third but in the end were defeated 6-5. Scoring for the Storm were Hayden Duplantis with 2 goals, and Mike Bohnert, Paul Leger and Harrison Alvarez adding singles. Assisting on the goals were Michael Fiegehen, Eric Langridge and Paul Leger.

This past Friday night, the team and their parents braved the snow squalls and travelled to Walkerton. From the opening faceoff, the Storm were determined to get back in the win column and scored an impressive 6-3 win. Jack Flarity, in his rookie season in net, helped his team to victory. Brendan Morano opened the scoring for the Storm on an assist from Harrison Alvarez. Less then a minute later, Tristan Rajendra scored on a feed from Michael Fiegehen. Tyler Donaldson completed the scoring in the first on an assist from Harrison Alvarez. Walkerton added one in the opening period to bring the score to 3-1 heading into the second.

Staying strong in the second period, the Storm worked hard to keep the lead and added another goal from Harrison Alvarez on an assist from Morano. Chris Gilbert was strong in the defensive zone to keep the home team off the scoreboard. In the third, the boys continued to press and brought the score up to 6-1 on goals by Eric Langridge unassisted and Tristan Rajendra assisted by Morano and Fiegehen. Two goals from Walkerton in the third were not enough as the team held on for the win.

Next up for the Storm are three away games this weekend followed by a game in Southampton on Monday night.
