Atom AE, U11 (OMHA), 2016-2017 (Saugeen Shores Minor Hockey)

The Atom AE team finished in 2nd place in their W.O.A.A. playoff series versus Kincardine.  They finished with a record of 1-3-1. Game 1 They won 1-0 Game 2 They lost 2-1, Kincardine won in overtime Game 3 They lost 5-3, empty net scored by Kincardine Game 4 They tied 2-2, with overtime it stayed a tie Game 5 They lost 2-1 Thanks to all that came out and cheered for the team throughout the year and especially in the playoffs. Next up for the team is a year end tournament in Lincoln.  Good luck storm!!! The team is sponsored by Queens Bar and Grill.

The Saugeen Shores Atom AE team played their first game versus Kincardine on March 7 at the Plex.  The first two periods were scoreless with lots of back and forth action.  Our goalie Colby was on fire.  Each team received four penalties each throughout the game.  Ozzie scored for the storm in the third period.  With still 11 minutes left on the clock the team was able to hold off Kincardine.

WOAA playoffs for Saugeen Shores Atom AE team has proven to be successful to this point.  Although the the first game in our WOAA Neilson division was somewhat of an upset, the team regrouped and powered through 5 consecutive wins which secured a spot for the storm in the finals. 

Saugeen Shores Storm AE travelled to Arthur this past Friday for an away match up against the Arthur Vipers for a puck drop at 7:00pm.  The Arthur team is not in our loop.

OMHA playoffs didn’t’ end the way the Atom AE was hoping.  Game six was tied after three periods and went into overtime.  Unfortunately for the team Kincardine scored in overtime therefore taking the series and moving on.
