Saugeen Shores Storm AE Heading To Game 6 With Kincardine Kinucks
This past Sunday was a nail biter when the Saugeen Shores Storm AE and  Kincardine Kinucks AE team went into a stalemate after regulation time and an additional 10 minute sudden death overtime.  This was very exciting for team staff, spectators and the players in this 5th game for the series.   There will be a 6th game to decide which team will move on to meet up BCH in the next series.

The Kincardine Kinucks built up some inertia on Wednesdays game when they got their first win against the Storm in the best of 5 game series.   Then, on Saturday January 21st the Storm suffered an additional loss to the Kinucks which tied up the series at 4 points each heading into game 5 the following day.  Sundays game proved to be very evenly balanced for both the Storm and the Kinucks.  Little to no rest between shifts was witnessed as the Storm cycled through fresh legs on the ice.  The kids played hard, got lots of shots, and had lots of opportunities, but struggled to get the puck behind the goalie.  That was true for both teams.  Goal scorers Emmett Jackson and Charlie Bennett both managed to place the rubber in the opposing net to leave the score at a 2-2 tie.

Saugeen Shores Storm AE will meet up with the Kinucks on Tuesday January 24th when the deciding game will be played on home ice.  Puck drop at 6:00 PM at the Plex.

One last note of mention was the Storms ability to pass the puck, set up the play, and defend the opposition together like a true team.  This is the type of behavior that makes the difference, and hence a repeat of the last inspirational quote from a famous athlete.

Thank you to all that came out to support the Atom Storm AE team on Sunday.  Let’s fill the stands this Tuesday, and cheer on our team!
