The Atom AE team had their first match up with the Zurich AE
team today at the Plex. The game didn't
go the way the storm hoped and they lost their second game of the season.
Zurich got one past our goalie two minutes and seven seconds into the game. The storm kept trying and battling with the Thunder to try to get onto the board. Carson scored unassisted near the end of the first period to make it 1-1. 47 seconds later Zurich returned the call and scored again making it 2-1 where the score remained until the end of the first period. Both teams battled hard in the second period and there were many chances in both ends. The storm wasn't able to capitalize on any of our opportunities and had no luck getting past the Zurich goalie in the second. Zurich managed to strike again with 2:39 left in the second period.
Zurich got another goal at the start of the third period to make it 4-1. The storm didn't give up, and kept battling for the puck and getting shots on net. Zurich scored one more goal half way through the period to make it 5-1. Less then a minute later Brandon scored for the Storm, unassisted to make it 5-2. Although the Storm kept fighting and didn't give up, the team just couldn't get past the Thunder's goalie again.

We have practice in Southampton this Wednesday at 6pm. Then off to Kincardine on Thursday night for a game at 6pm. On Saturday we will travel to Zurich for redemption at 4pm.
