Saugeen Shores Storm AE Rebound back After Small Losing Streak
Saugeen Shores Storm AE regained confidence with big win in Zurich, defeating the Zurich Thunder 5-1.

If you have been following the Storm you would agree that the storm has been tracking a steady cool breeze and has overcome most obstacles, but there have been a few teams that have resisted the push.

On the road this past Thursday, we met up with our rivals; the Kincardine Kinucks at their home center for a school night match up.  We have been off of our game suffering two prior losses, and this game was no different.  It was Orange on Orange (that's right no blue jerseys this evening), and from the start it appeared that no favors were being granted to the Storm.  Although fighting for a spot on the scoreboard in all three periods, the orange and white...Saugeen Shores Storm just couldn't get past the Kinucks goalie.  We suffered a 3-0 loss to the Kinucks giving them their first league game win over the storm.  Time to regroup and focus on the game!

On the road again this past Saturday, Saugeen Shores Storm travelled to Zurich with high emotions and ready to play hockey.  It was a long snowy drive there; however it didn't cause the storm to get off track any further.  The Storm struck down on Zurich returning the thunder and adding some lightning.  Coming off strong and setting the pace for the game, Brandon Embro caught a rebound sinking a beauty on his first shift making it a 1-0 go ahead over Zurich.   The storm managed to maintain the 1 goal advantage until the end of the 1st period.

Into the second period the Thunder recoiled, and went end to end to tie up the game 1.  Returning the favor, Ozzie Alpaugh got the go ahead once again at 2-1.

Pulling away in the third, the Storm called on Emmett Jackson, Hudson Wiles and Carson Anderson each getting a goal tallying up a 5-1 victory over Zurich.  Unmentioned assists throughout the game and strong Storm goaltending was the kind of teamwork that was required to get the victory.

Two additional points to the league standings for the Storm means that we are able to sustain first place in our division, followed closely by Mitchell Meteors.

A busy upcoming weekend is about us, starting with our first match up against Ripley Wolves Saturday at the Plex in Port Elgin for a 1:15PM puck drop!  And on Sunday we match up against BCH Ice dogs at 12:30 at the Plex.
