Novice LL 1, 2010-2011, U11 (Atom) (Saugeen Shores Minor Hockey)

The Saugeen Shores Novice LL Team #1 lost the deciding game for the WOAA North Division Championship to the Arran-Elderslie Ice Dogs 5 - 2 in Paisley Wednesday night.

With their backs against the wall, the Arran-Elderslie Ice Dogs came in to Southampton Monday night and left with a 3 -2 win to tie the best of three series at one game each.

The Saugeen Shores Novice LL Team #1 opened their Championship Series on the road in Chesley on Saturday afternoon against the Arran-Elderslie Ice-Dogs. Playing on this big ice surface for the first time this season they came away with a hard fought 7 – 4 victory.

Players from the Saugeen Shores area participated in the subject tournament which comprised of Ontario First Nation communities from all across Ontario. This years tournament was held over the March Break in Sudbury and consisted of 103 teams and more than 2200 participants. Of particular note is the play of Daniel Kimewon. His performance during the tournament caught the eye of the Scouts and earned him a tryout with the provincial Jr A Cobourg Cougars. Saugeen Shores Tm#1 defeated Saugeen Shores Tm#2 Wednesday night in Southampton 5 - 3. Their record puts them into the Championship best two of three series against the Arran Elderslie Ice Dogs. Dates TBA.
