Southampton Foodland/Carson Plumbing End Regular Season With A Win
Saugeen Shores Team #1 toppled cross-town rivals Team #2 Monday night at The Coliseum by a 5 to 1 score.

Kaya Hall opened the scoring late in the first period assisted by Aiden DeVries and Spencer Sutter-Lammie. Shortly after, Patrick Fenton helped Jarrett Trumbley tie the score at ones. The game continued locked until the dying seconds of the second period when Ray Hou scored an unassisted marker and on the ensuing faceoff he set up Spencer to end the period up 3 - 1. The momentum continued into the third when Jared Kerr assisted on Kaya's second of the game. At the mid-point of the period with the game seemingly in hand, Amber Gallie fired a bullet past the goalie with another assist credited to the bull-dog, Spence. For her strong two-way effort, Amber was presented with the Digger game award. Hunter Barnard played a very confident game on defence and time and again cleared his zone with some smooth stickhandling and advancement of the puck. The pairing of Hunter with Blake Shields make for a formidable shield in front of goalie Jolena McLean. Forwards Aiden DeVries, Braydyn Roote, and Ethan Walsh, Mercedes Roote, and Anthony Sarauz were all on the puck and prevented the opposition from mounting any sustainable attack. Similar to last week's game on many occasions the players overskated a puck that stopped like a stubborn mule. Teased for putting pucks fresh from the oven in the game, this weeks batch were placed outdoors to ensure they were frozen but they still failed. So this week the teasing goes to Kaya's mother. Nighttime Nyquil is given before bedtime not before game time. Practice Tuesday 8th Feb 6:45 at The Plex. Playoff schedule and format TBA.
