SS Novice Tm#1 Tie Game In Preparation For Playoffs
In their first game in 3 weeks since the end of their regular season , Southampton Foodland/Carson Plumbing Novices Tm#1 tied the Owen Sound Jr Attack novices 2 -2 Saturday afternoon in an exhibition game played in Southampton. Growing tired of practices, the young hockey players were antsy for real game action.

The story of the game for the Attack was their first goal just 27 seconds into the game, their second goal with just 13 seconds left in the game and in between the stellar performance of their goaltender Ryan Campbell.  First year hockey player Anthony Sarauz requested a try in nets for Saugeen Shores and he did not disappoint.  Good work Anthony. The home team couldn’t buy a goal until Spencer Sutter-Lammie found the twine on a solo effort to tie the game with 1:14 left in the second period. Pressing for the go ahead marker, Team #1’s shooters continued to be stymied until Hunter Barnard found the open corner assisted by Kaya Hall with under 3 minutes remaining. And as reported earlier, Owen Sound earned their point in the dying seconds. The forechecking, support, backchecking, passing, individual skills, and scoring opportunities were all there. It was a well played game. The Digger Award was presented to Ethan Walsh for his heady performance and drive every shift. Practice Sunday @ 1:30 in Southampton. First playoff game vs Saugeen Shores Team #3 on Monday @ 6pm in Southampton.
