Storm come up with a tie in a hard fought game
Rowlands Independent Saugeen Shores Storm PeeWee LL2 vs. Walkerton Capitals end in a 3:3 tie.

The teams faced off in an even match-up with seemingly equal puck possession, back and forth throughout the game.

From the first drop of the puck the teams knew they were in for a tough go and had to battle for control. Storm players served 3 penalties and Walkerton Capitals players served 8 penalties in this showdown but Storm players weren’t able to take full advantage of the power play opportunities.

In the 1st period Quinn scored on a power play with 2:04 left, assisted by Peter and Andrew.

In the 2nd period Quinn scored another power play goal with a beaut from his strong side to the bottom corner, unassisted.  We ended the period with a 2:0 lead as the teams headed to the dressing room during intermission.

In the 3rd period, the Capitals came out with a force and scored two quick goals at 14:24 and 13:50 which tied the score 2:2. Lucas hammered away with many shots. He finally managed to score short-handed to put our third and final goal on the board. He was assisted by Andrew at 9:28 to pull into at 3:2 lead for a few more minutes.    Capitals scored to bring the game to a 3:3 tie at 6:56.

Overall the team played a strong game.  Jack Bennett having another great game kept us competitive throughout while faced with a barrage of shots from the Capitals.

Good effort from the whole team.
