Catch-Up Review of last 5 games played by Rowland's Independent Saugeen Shores Storm PeeWee LL 2.  (say that 5 times fast!)

The PeeWee LL 2 played 5 games since December 7th
3 league games and two tournament games at the Canadian Tire Cup Tournament in Hanover.

Watch for upcoming action from LL 2 at our next game Sunday, December 18th
at 5:30 pm in Southampton against the Owen Sound Jr. Attack 2.

A shout-out to all leadership staff, team volunteers, parents, grandparents, friends and siblings who come out to support the team.  Special mention to all of the community sponsors of minor hockey!  A BIG THANKS to the SSMHA executive, President Robert Blue and the Local League VP Cindy Thomson, your work on behalf of the league is appreciated, making this league possible in Saugeen Shores.

Now for a quick 10-day re-cap:

Wednesday, December 7th League Game

PeeWee Storm LL 2 faced Owen Sound Team 1 at home in Southampton.     Andrew Guo was our only goal scorer.  It was a messy 2 – 1 loss at home.  There were many challenges throughout the game.  As much as Coach would have liked a W on his birthday, the team fell a couple of goals too short.

Friday, December 9th League Game

We faced the AEMHA Icedogs on the road in the frigid Tara arena.   Jack Bennett played a stellar game with what seemed like endless shots on net.  Storm goal scored by Lucas Noe.  Although the resulting score was a 4-1 loss; the quick reactions, confident glove saves and strong use of his stick prevented many opposing goals.  The powerful Icedogs team just got the better of us.  Great hustle and energy from all the Storm players.   A well-played game against a strong opponent.

Saturday, December 10th  Canadian Tire Cup Tournament in Hanover

1st tournament game vs Hanover Falcons 2

Within the first few seconds, Hanover marked their first goal taking the early lead.  Game was tied up by Quinn in the second.   Although we controlled most of the game, the players seemed to have lost steam and Hanover attacked our net with an onslaught of shots which resulted in a 4:1 loss.  Team’s Player of the Game:  Quinn

2nd tournament game vs Centre Wellington Fusion Yellow

A back and forth battle brought us to the end of regulation time with the game tied 1:1 to progress into a 5 minute overtime period.  In the final minute of overtime play, our opponents scored, knocking the Storm team out of the tournament.  Team's Player of the Game was awarded to Jack in the net.

Wednesday, December 14th game was cancelled and re-scheduled due snow and high winds.  Game will be played Sunday, December 18th in Southampton.

Saturday, December 17th Away Game at Hanover Falcons 2

Meeting again following the Hanover tournament, the players took to the ice ready to engage.  A good game was played by members of both teams.  Many great passes and rushes on the net.    The Falcons outshot the Storm team giving goaltender Jack a real workout.  The resulting score of 0:0 was a testament to Jack’s  goaltending skill.  He stood on his head!

Look forward to some more exciting game play from:
