Win Over West Grey LL2
A windy day for a win over West Grey!

Rowlands Independent Saugeen Shores Storm PeeWee LL 2 faced off against the West Grey Warriors LL 2 at Normanby Arena in Ayton Sunday afternoon.

It was a well-played game, Storm players dominating from the start and continuing strong throughout, attacking the puck with force.

Andrew with dynamite speed and stick handling put his first two goals on the board in the 1st period, both beautiful shots to the bottom corners.  First goal assisted by Ritchie, the second unassisted.

The scoring continued into the 2nd period with a great shot from Ritchie, assisted by Andrew, the puck finding its way through the fray with a strong shot from the point.  Our fourth unanswered goal was scored by Quinn right in front of the net, assisted by teammates Tyler and Peter.  Great forechecking from Cole this game with nice offensive moves to score our 5th goal unassisted.    Cole was on fire today!  The second period ended 5:0.

Once again, Jack was strong in the net with some big saves when the pressure was on.  On defense, Nick calculated the angles to stop incoming attackers and was able to shut down shots from Warrior forwards.  Brady worked hard to keep the puck in the zone and used great positioning to cut off opposing attacks.   Josh held his ground and battled for control.  We saw all kinds of hustle from Lucas, skating hard and supporting the play.  Tyler dug for the puck and used his speed and skill to weave around the Warrior defense.  Peter executed many passes this game showing great team cooperation.   Good puck movement from Brennan to advance the offense.

Into the third period, the West Grey Warriors scored their first and only goal just 11 seconds into the period.  A minute later, Quinn worked his way up the ice and scored his second goal.  It went top cheddar.  Andrew celebrated his hat trick when he scored our 7th goal, assisted by Quinn. Hunter zeroed in and scored our 8th and final goal assisted by seasoned defenseman Brady.

Final score 8:1 Storm over West Grey.

Stay tuned for more action from the PeeWee Storm LL2 as the season continues.
