The game
started out as a nail-biter with Walkerton taking an early lead over the PeeWee
LL 2 Storm. Down 2 : zip, the Storm
players were scrambling to get a foot-hold on the scoreboard.
Quinn pushed it into high gear to get our scoring going. He was able to score in the first period, so we went into the second period down by one. It was a tight second period with both teams doing their best; fighting for position, taking shots on net and playing a strong defensive game. Our second goal, to tie the score 2:2 was put in the net by Quinn in the second period assisted by Peter.
At times, the game was getting physical. Gaining some momentum in the 3rd period, Tyler put two goals on the board. Tyler beat the goalie far-side, unassisted with his first goal of the night. Tyler’s second goal was assisted by Quinn who passed it to Tyler when he was in perfect position to take the shot. Great game Tyler!
Storm defense stood their ground to neutralize Walkerton’s offense. Our fifth and final goal was scored by Andrew, unassisted.
The team was very happy with their overall performance, probably the best of the season. Final score 5:2 Storm take the W over the Capitals. Go Team!
