The STORM effect in Southampton
Pee Wee Storm LL 2 vs. Owen Sound Jr Attack 2

Lots of ice time tonight for the 9 Storm skaters dressed for the game at the Coliseum.

Seasoned defenseman Brady Phillips was called upon to move to the forward line in order to fill in for players who were absent from the game.  Josh Van Myall, Ritchie Carter, and Nick Embro held down the defense, with Quinn Fowler cycling through when defensemen were serving time in the penalty box.   Josh held his own as the game became more physical and showcased his stamina.  Ritchie had some monster shots on net and also shots off the boards to clear the puck.  Nick really shone at tonight’s game, he was quick on his feet and stick-handled with style.  Nick stepped up and skated hard, with excellent position play.

Storm players dominated the scoreboard in the first period, with 3 unanswered goals.  At 8:16 Tyler Morrison scored, unassisted.  Once he got started, he just didn’t stop trying to find the back of the net.    Tyler’s second goal was marked at 1:15, assisted by Hunter Campbell.     Hunter made sure he was in the right place at the right time throughout the game to aid the play and progress towards the net.  Third goal was marked by Nick Embro assisted by Lucas Noe.   Lucas played a solid game, always a reliable team player.

In the second period Owen Sound scored their first of the game.  The period seemed to go by quickly with lots of action on the ice.   Peter Alpajaro Jr. was a digger and had a few great chances in front of the net.  Fantastic effort.

Early in the third period, Owen Sound scored again, bringing the score to 3:2.  Two minutes later, the home team celebrated Tyler’s hat trick, goal assisted by Lucas and Ritchie.   Fifth and final Storm goal was tipped in by Quinn, assisted by Tyler.

The Storm players dug deep to maintain their energy for the final game of 2016.  See you in the New Year.

Happy Holidays.
