Atom C Girls, U11 (OMHA), 2013-2014 (Saugeen Shores Minor Hockey)

The Saugeen Shores Atom C Storm captured GOLD at the Ontario Women's Hockey Association Provincial Championships held in Mississauga 11th to 13th April 2014.  This is the first Provincial Gold in the history of the SSMHA.

Saugeen Shores displayed skill and heart in winning the WOAA Year-End Championship Tournament 29th & 30th March. It was fitting that the championship game pitted league points leader Saugeen Shores against second place league points finisher Markdale GreyHighlands Shooting Stars. It was a game that would be decided by offence/defence/goaltending and Saugeen Shores won in all three categories with a dominating 2 - 0 victory. Congratulations Girls and good luck in the Provincials 11th - 12th April in Mississauga.

Crabby Joe’s Atom C Girls lost to the GreyHighland’s Shooting Stars 3 – 2 in Markdale Sunday afternoon.  The winning goal came with under five minutes remaining in the game but Crabby never gave up until the final buzzer.

Crabby Joe’s Saugeen Shores Storm Atom C Girls entered the 33rd Annual Walter Gretzky Girls Hockey Tournament  20th to 23rd February.  When the time came to travel to Brantford the team found they were going to miss their top goal scorer in Skyler Pomroy as well as Calaen Macdonald.  Based on the strong reputation of the tournament, the team requested two Atom girl replacements from the Bruce Peninsula Predators  at the last moment. Thanks to Emma Baker and Maizy Hutchinson for stepping in.

Crabby travelled to Lucknow Saturday evening and had a full complement of players less Kennedy Stauffer who is still sitting out for precautionary reasons as a result of receiving a head check in the recent SilverStick tournament.
