Novice LL 4, U8 & U9 (OMHA), 2013-2014 (Saugeen Shores Minor Hockey)

The LL4 McNuggets finished off their season by competing in a best of 3 series against Saugeen Shores LL2 team headed by Darryl McKinnon.  This team was a powerhouse all season and it was a privilege to go up against them for the WOAA Championship round.  Building up to the final games of the playoffs was quite intense.  The McNuggets practices were focused around areas that we knew we needed to strengthen if we were going to defeat LL2.  McKinnon’s had his team in a tournament not too long before the final match up and also managed to squeeze in an exhibition game against Kincardine.  ...

The LL4 McNuggets started off by taking on the Shallow Lake Lakers 2 team Saturday evening at a home game in Port Elgin at the Plex. The McNuggets played a great game and defeated their shallow lake rivals 2-0 giving Doughboy him another shut out to add to his stats.

The LL4 McNuggets took on another Saugeen shores local league team LL1 on Saturday afternoon at the Plex in Port Elgin. A notably well played game by both teams, however our McNuggets pulled out on top for a 3-1 win.

      The LL4 McNuggets had a hockey filled weekend starting out with a practice Thursday evening at the Southampton coliseum and then a game Friday, Saturday and Sunday totaling a 4 day on-ice stretch for the team.           Friday Night the LL4 McNuggets were on the road and faced the Shallow Lake Lakers 2 team at the Shallow Lake and District Community Centre.  This team has a reputation for playing very aggressive and was in 5th place over all in the standings.    Knowing this ahead of time left us with no surprises and we knew that it was a must to come out strong and also play ...
