Storm #1, Cason Supply / Foodland, Host Bruce Peninsula Predators#2
Storm #1, Cason Supply / Foodland, were host Bruce Peninsula Predators#2 on Saturday afternoon.  The team played great and really showed the coaching staff that they are getting a lot out of practice as they look great in the Predators #2 zone.

The puck dropped and the Wingers once again set the tone in this game right off the bat as The Storm took to The Predators zone.  Brennan, Jerri, Lucas, Austin B, Rhys and Jimmy were great as they took to the offensive zone and worked hard down low and getting to the net.  There were some nice chances early but it wasn’t until 5:44 of the period when Lucas potted one with assists form Rhys and Andrew by going for the loose puck out front and putting their team up by 1.  Then at 3:20 and 1:37 Nick scored unassisted goals by wristing home a couple beauties in the scoring zone after getting to the lose puck sitting there.  Then 7 seconds after Nick’s last goal Ian took the puck right from the center ice faceoff and went right to the net, stickhandling beautifully and managed to beat the tender to put the team up 4-0.

In the second once again The Storm once again got off to a great start in the Predators zone.  The forwards looked real good but it was the hard work of the defensemen, Andy, Austin D, Andrew and Talan on the blueline keeping the puck in and breaking up whatever chances the Predators had going back into their zone.  Nick scored once again at 6:05 of the period giving him the natural Hat Trick and Coach Richard threw his had on ice in celebration.  The 3 minutes later on some great work by the Defensemen and the Wingers Nick found the lose puck and netted his 4th of the game.  This is after several pass attempts out front to his linemates.  The score would remain 6-0 at the end of the period and the Storm was feeling confident as their goaltender Logan was perfect all game to this point.

As the third period started the Storm had a pretty good lead but they did not give up.  Players kept going to the net working hard in the corners and holding the blueline.  The play went on for quite some time only giving the Predators minimal time in our zone.  At 3:46 Austin D saw his chance and went for it as he netted another beauty wrist shot upstarts on the Predators tender.  Then Lucas earned his second of the game at 3:01 unassisted by going to the net.  Things were looking really good for Logan but with 9 seconds left Predators scored off a rebound that Logan just could not cover up in time to make the final 8-1 in favour of the Storm.

Great game team as we are really playing well as a team.  Logan was commended for his great work in net just missing the shutout and Jimmy was awarded the Digger Award for his excellent play all game and just missing several chances on his first Novice goal, congrats Jimmy.

Next game Saturday Dec 7th  1pm vs the Shallow Lake Lakers #1 at the Plex.
