Storm#1, Carson Supply / Foodland, Travel to Shallow Lake for Game 2 of the Consolations Final
Leading the best of 3 Series 1-0 going into this game the Storm were pumped as the dressing room was buzzing before the game.  The thought of winning the Consolation Championship had everything to do with it and it showed right from the opening faceoff to the final buzzer.

The puck drops and the game is on, the Lakers move into the Storms zone were Lucas played the puck to the corner.  Andrew picked it up and skated the length of the ice to open the scoring 1-0 for his team just 22 seconds into the game and Lucas, our goaltender, was awarded the assist.  This certainly got the team pumped as they continued to battle hard and win loose pucks and challenge their opponents.  On the next line change we saw Jimmy make a nice pass over to Nick who beat the Lakers tender to make it 2-0; Nick was awarded the goal and Jimmy the assist.  The Lakers managed to gain the Storms end when Lucas Turned another puck off to the corner and Talan when for a skate this time and riffled one of his beauty wristers on net and the Storm were up 3-0, Talan with the goal and Lucas again for the assist at 6:31 of the period.    The crowd was pumping and the Bench was cheering and the barrage continued as Andy tried his luck with a skate.  Has he ran out of real estate, passed the puck over to Nick who found the back of the net for the second time this period.  Nick awarded the goal and Andy with the beauty assist at 4:27.  The played continued and the Storm seemed unstoppable as the Lakers could not gain their zone very long and when they got a shot Lucas made no mistake, stopped it then covered it up.  Once the Storm managed to get into the Lakers zone again, off a great battle on the side boards in the Lakers end with Rhys, Austin B and Ian Battling hard, the puck came loose and Andy dropped in from the point, fired a hard shot and beat the Lakers tender to make the score 5-0.  Andy with the goal and Rhys and Austin B with the assist at 2:52 of the period.  This was a great start to the game as the team came out flying and at the end of the first the score was 5-0 for the Storm.

In the second The Lakers would not give up as they are a great team and they brought it on.  Lucas continued to make some great saves and the Storm continued to battle hard.  Logan and Rhys were flying out there on the ice and making things very hard for the Lakers players. Austin D was looking great even though he was not feeling 100% and continued to shut down the Lakers rushes.  It wasn’t until 5:53 we saw Ian gain the zone off some great passing from Brennan and Jerri through the neutral zone.  Ian faked the shot and made a beauty move and tucked the puck home with some great hands to make the score 6-0.  Ian with the goal and Brennan and Jerri with the assist.    As play continued Lucas was fantastic, Jerri, Rhys, Logan, Austin B, Jimmy and Brennan were battling hard and skating great.  Nick managed an unassisted goal with 24 seconds left to complete a hat trick and the coaches threw their hats on the ice in celebration.  At the end of the second the score was 7-0 and the Storm was looking strong.

As the puck dropped in the third the Lakers would not give up despite the score, but the Storm continued to play their game and won battles all over the ice.  We saw Logan skate the length of the ice, Jerri tried it out as well and did great. Austin B just missed a few rebounds in front and Rhys was a machine in all zones winning battles and trying to get shots off.  Brennan and Jimmy were trying out their puck handling skills but everyone was playing as a team and coming back into their own zone to help out Lucas and get the puck out.  Jimmy scored off a rebound from Nicks shot with 1:44 left and that was the Game.  Storm #1 win the Consolation Championship 8-0 in a furious battle that they never gave up an inch to the other team.  Lucas was amazing in net as he stopped everything that was thrown at him not to mention recording 2 assists as a goalie and recording his second consecutive shutout.
