Storm #1, Cason Supply / Foodland, Head to Wiaton
Storm #1, Cason Supply / Foodland, headed to Wiaton Monday night to take on the Bruce Peninsula Northstarts #1.  This was once again a great game as the storm really played as a team and worked really hard.

Not sure if it was the stormy snowy night or just the excitement of playing hockey but The Storm got off to a great start, everyone started off skating well and working real hard.  Logan opened the scoring at 8:46 picking up the puck along the boards from a clearing attempt by Andy and took off on a breakaway.  He made no mistake beating the goaltender "5" hole to put his team up 1-0 and earning his first Novice goal and Andy was awarded the assist on the play.  This really got the Storm pumped up as they continued to play great.  The wingers, Jimmy, Rhys, Jerri, Brennan, and Logan all work hard along the boards and in the opposing zone for the puck and trying to get it on net.  Despite several chances, the score remained 1-0 at the end of the first.

The start second period we saw the defensemen really step it up.  Andy, Talan, Andrew and Austin D really looked great at holding the line and getting back to help Ian in net.  Austin D went for a skate at 6:19 of the period and threw a wicked looking wrist shot top shelf assisted by Jerri who was working hard the get the puck off the boards to him.  They didn't stop there though those defenseman continued to battle and get the puck out of our end and hold it in the Northstars.  Ian made some beauty saves even taking one off the facemask at one point but he didn't even flinch and kept his eye on the puck all the time.  Eventually they managed to beat him to make the score 2-1 but he didn't seem to shaken at all and kept his team up by 1 until then end of the period.

The third was a great period as the Northstars really turned their game up and took it to the Storm.  The Storm saw this and started turning up there game lead by Lucas and Nick and there great work all over the ice.  Getting the puck in deep and keeping it there to getting back in their zone to break up the rush from the Northstarts.  in the dying minute of the game Rhys won a battle for the puck along the boards and got it to Brennan who passed it over to Nick who then fired past the Northstars goalie to make the score 3-1 with Rhys and Brennan earning a great assist each on the play.  The game would end in a 3-1 victory for the Storm but it wasn't an easy one as the players all worked hard and played as a team out there and Ian played great in net as well.

Logan was awarded a puck for his first Novice goal, as well he was awarded the Digger award for his hard play and attacking the loose pucks on the ice.  Great work Logan and congrats!!
