Storm LL#1, Carson Supply / Foodland, travel to Lion's Head to Faceoff against The Northstars #2
Storm LL#1, Carson Supply / Foodland, traveled up the Bruce Peninsula to Lion's Head to faceoff against The Northstars #2 on Saturday afternoon.  This would prove the be quite that match as the score was real tight most of the game but it was The Storm who earned their first win of the season.

The puck is dropped and both teams get off skating and battling hard real quick.  The Storm got a few chances real early with Nick, Andy and Jimmy trying their luck with some great stickhandling through the entire Northstars squad but they were stoned by the tender at the other end.  This was until the 7:02 mark when battling in the Northstars zone Lucas netted the first of the game and the assists awarded to Nick and Jerri.  Despite the great work from The Storm the game would remain 1-0 at the end of the first.

In the second The Storm continued with their hard work and battling for the puck along the boards and in the corners.  The defense unit of Austin, Andrew, Andy and Lucas we great at jumping into the rushes, creating rushes and getting back to hold the blueline in the offensive zone.  The wingers Jimmy, Rhys, Jerri were skating well getting pucks from the battles in the corners and going to the net for passes.  Brennan was a beast on the puck not losing one battle for it and always in good position in the offensive zone.  Ian and Nick were flawless in all areas of the ice providing scoring chances and supporting their teammates everywhere on the ice.  Talan was a wall in net even though he did not see too many shots; he handled them all perfectly to keep his team up by one at the end of the second.

With The Storm continuing to try their chances and playing great like they had in the first two periods they finally opened the gap in scoring at 2:29 left were Nick got one on a nice pass from Jimmy earning him the assist.  Then again with 1:22 remaining Austin D. fired a point shot that The Northstars goalie could not handle and found the back of the net, assisted by the great work along the boards from Nick and Jimmy. With the dying seconds of the game counting down Lucas hammered home his second of the game with assists from Andrew and Ian.  This resulted in a 4-0 win for The Storm and their first of the season.

Great game by all players!!  Talan was awarded the game puck for his shutout.  Andy was the recipient of The Digger Award for his excellent play all game, skating with the puck end to end, battling the hold the blueline and getting back to help and retrieve the puck to keep the drive to the other end going, congrats.
