Full Weekend for BDO Dunwoody Atom's
The BDO Dunwoody Saugeen Shores Atom BB ended a busy week with a one day tournament and a rematch with their Highway 21 nemesis.  Friday saw the Kincardine Kinucks come to the Plex for a rematch after a penalty-filled game Monday.

Wade Kewageshig put a pass from Cam Lightfoot in the net to start the scoring about halfway through the first but Kincardine would tie it up with 1:19 left in the period.  The Kinucks would take the lead halfway through the second and get their final goal at 7:51 in the third for a 3-1 win.  Thanks to Sam Maksymyk for coming out and helping the team.

Saturday, the Atom BB’s were off to Hillsburgh for the Love of the Game tournament.  Their first game was against Glanbrook.  Less than two minutes into the game, Cam Lightfoot would pass the puck to Ben Lalonde who skated in on the left and put the puck in the net.  Shortly after, there was in incident along the boards and Justin Marlowe was out for the rest of the tournament.  As the Storm killed off the five minute penalty, Emma Vanhaelemeesch skated in with the puck, passed to Isaac Fewster on the open side of the net to score.  Halfway through the second there was a scramble in front of the net. Ben Lalonde took a shot, Wade Kewageshig got the puck out to the blue line and Jack Middleton sent one over the goalie’s shoulder.  As the second was winding down, Jack Middleton passed to his defensive partner, Nolan Dereski who took the puck all the way down the ice to the net and Brayden Horseman would bury the rebound.  In the last couple of minutes of the game, Middleton took the puck behind the Storm net, made a path down the ice to put it top shelf.  The Storm won it 5-0 and Christian Doubt got his fifth shut out of the season.

The Storm’s second game against Flesherton was more of a challenge, although they got on the scoreboard first.  Nolan Dereski got the puck to Wade Kewageshig who went to the net and kept digging until he scored.  Flesherton would tie it up half way through the second and take the lead as the period was winding down.  As the third period started, Flesherton got their third and final goal.  The Storm would lose 3-1 and also lose a team mate as Wade Kewageshig was injured during the game and will be out for the rest of the season.

Saugeen Shores final game was against the Centre Wellington Fusion for the bronze.  At the five minute mark of the first, Ben Lalonde passed to Cam Lightfoot who shot on net and Hunter Cannon put in the rebound.  At the start of the second, Nolan Dereski would clear the zone to Lightfoot who skated around the Fusion defense to score.  Near the end of the period, Isaac Fewster sent the puck up to Middleton who went deep into the Fusion end, passed the puck out front to Brayden Horseman, getting his second of the tournament.  With just over three minutes left in the third, Cam Lightfoot deeks the goalie and puts it in the far side.  Sixteen seconds later, Fewster gives the puck to Lightfoot who took a quick shot and puts it in for the hat trick.  With a minute and a half left in the game, the Fusion get a break away and score to ruin another shut out but the Storm won it 5-1 and took home the hardware.  As part of the team effort, Kent Ribey and William Forsyth were great on defense (as always) and Shawn Charlebois skated hard after the puck all day. Congratulations to the Atom BB team on three well-played games.
