BDO Dunwoody Atom's Down Mildmay
The BDO Dunwoody Saugeen Shores Atom BB Storm played host to Mildmay on Friday night at the Plex.

The teams were evenly matched as the first period saw no scoring despite some good work around the net by Shawn Charlebois, Hunter Cannon and Isaac Fewster and some good passing by Cam Lightfoot, Ben Lalonde and Justin Marlow.  The second contained more back and forth action but finally, with 1:56 left, William Forsyth cleared the zone with a pass to Cam Lightfoot who took the puck through the neutral zone, pushed through the defense, and shot it through the five hole.  As the second period came to an end, Mildmay put some pressure on the Storm but Christian Doubt kept the puck out of the net.  Just over two minutes into the third period, Justin Marlowe got a breakaway and put the puck top shelf for the Storm’s second goal.  With help from his line mates Emma Vanhaelemeesch and Wade Kewageshig, Brayden Horseman made a great attempt at a wrap-around in the dying seconds of the game but the Mildmay goalie slid over just in time.  It would be a 2-0 win for the Storm.  Good work on defense by Kent Ribey, William Frosyth, Nolan Dereski and Jack Middleton to keep Mildmay off the score board.  Congratulations to Christian Doubt on his third shutout of the season.
