BDO Dunwoody Atom Storm Tangle with North Stars
The first road trip of the regular season saw the BDO Dunwoody Saugeen Shores Atom BB Storm travel to Lions Head to take on the Peninsula North Stars.  The North Stars started strong but the Storm quickly adapted.

Hunter Cannon was strong on the blue line; Shawn Charlebois used his speed to get in and take the first shot; William Forsyth tried the one-timer but the goalie stopped every attempt.  With 35 seconds left in the period, a North Stars forward made it around the defense and scored.  The Storm almost got it back in the dying seconds as Ben Lalonde won the face off, Justin Marlowe took the shot which was stopped and Charlebois couldn’t get his stick on the bouncing puck.

The second period didn’t see any goals but it wasn’t for lack of trying.  The forward line of Emma Vanhaelemeesch, Wade Kewageshig and Brayden Horseman had a shift with at least half a dozen chances but they just couldn’t connect.  There was good positioning, nice passes to the point but after two periods, the score remained 1-0 North Stars.

Period three would be the exact opposite of the second.  Kent Ribey went into the corner, passed out front to Marlowe and the rebound was knocked in by Charlebois to tie things up.  Three minutes later, Vanhaelemeesch got the puck at the red line, skated in and put the puck in the net.  Still on the ice, Vanhaelemeesh seized the opportunity to skate in again, took the shot and the rebound was put in by Marlowe.  The Storm continued on the offense as Cam Lightfoot passed to Lalonde whose rebound was knocked in by Isaac Fewster.  The North Stars then got a break away of their own but Christian Doubt made a great save.  The Storm got a little too offensive and the defense was caught pinching but this time the North Stars made the breakaway count.  The Storm then went on the Power Play but a miscommunication allowed the North Stars to come within one.  Good defense by Jack Middleton and Nolan Dereski kept the North Stars from scoring again.  The Storm would add one more as Marlowe stick-handled around everyone, faked out the goalie and scored the final goal of the game.  The BDO Dunwoody Storm won the game 5-3.
