The Crabby Joe's Atom C girls team end the season at the Plex against West Grey.
The Storm girls knew that only a win would give them a shot at a qualifying for the OWHA Provincial tournament. Both teams were evenly matched. The first period went by with no goals scored. Early in the second period, the Storm girls opened the scoring with a goal from Natalie. West Grey answered with a goal of their own one minute later. Mid way through the second period, Natalie was hauled down on a breakaway and awarded a penalty shot. The West Grey goalie was up to the challenge with a solid save. The big save gave the West Grey girls a spark of energy and took the attack to the Storm. West Grey was kept off the score sheet by the stellar goal tending by Emma and the stingy defense of Lauren, Layla, Hallie, Natalie and Ella. The third period was scoreless for the first eight and half minutes when coach Chad pulled the goalie knowing that we needed the win to advance. Ashley, Chloe and Brooklyn kept the pressure on down low and made for an exciting finish however they could not put one in. The final score 1-1. Excellent game played all around by all players. Great digging along the boards by Abby, Gillian and Parker. First time players Madison, Gracelyn and Mackenzie, look how far you have come this year. Next stop, WOAA Final weekend in Belmore.
