A busy new year schedule is just what the Heather's Poodle Care and Ralph's Shoppette Bantam girls want right now. The team is on a major roll. It's hard to believe we started the year at 0-5. Since that low water mark we have recorded 5 wins and 2 ties.
The latest 2 victims of the Storm Girls were Markdale on Sat Jan 4th. The girls first game back from 2 weeks off and they didn't miss a beat. A 1-0 nail biter came out in our favour with Sarah Bester scoring the only goal after a beautiful end to end rush by Taylor Ferguson. That was all Tiffany Kewagishig needed as she recorded the shut out. A tense 2 minutes at the end of the game with our team short handed and a Markdale timekeeper forgetting to run the clock, but we still came out on top!
On Sunday West grey came calling and this one was over shortly after it began. Victoria Matheson opened the scoring and a flood of goals followed. Savanah Brown provided a hat trick thanks to her lethal shot and Kenzie Hall on a screen from the point added one. Amber Hou with a great solo effort got the final marker. Kelly Robertson had a hat trick of assists as did Abby Acton. Nicki Walker showed her new forward abilities with a tape to tape pass that set up one of Savanah's goals. The shut out was recorded by Tiff, it was one of her easier games but she did stop a break away early in the game, that's just what she does and makes it look easy while doing it. Way to go girls, keep up the great work!
