A Tune Up For Silver Stick
Our final game prior to he Silver Stick and the girls showed a balanced attack and a dominating performance with a 4-0 win over Walkerton. Tiffany posted her umpteenth shut out of the season but only had a couple of tough stops, one being a clear cut break away.
The scoring was spread out through the line up. Sarah Bester opened the scoring with a nice goal with assists to Victoria Matheson and Sarah Underwood. Abby Acton added to the score on a scramble in front of the net. Hard work from the line of Abby, Nicki Walker and Amber Rowley paid off after keeping the puck hemmed in the Walkerton end. Amber Hou got the 3rd goal on a nice individual play. Savannah Brown finished the scoring with a wrist shot over the shoulder of a over worked goalie. The girls are gearing up for Friday when they open the Silver Stick at the Plex against a very tough opponent in Lucknow/ Wingham. We have one loss and a tie against this team and will need our very best to get the win. We play Sarnia Lady Sting on Saturday morning and follow that up against Walkerton C's in the evening. The competition is going to be tough but these girls are playing well, it should be a great week end of hockey.
