Four game unbeaten Streak Continues!
Ralph's Shoppette / Heather's Poodle Care girls Bantam team continued their strong play with an exciting 3-2 road victory in Blyth. On a "stormy" night the girls were all business and put in a full game effort to earn a win.
Despite letting Blyth/Brussels open the scoring early in the game it was a full attack from there on for the rest of the period. Victoria Matheson with her first of 2 tied the game only a minute after the opening goal. Abby Acton with a strong wrister from the slot put us in front to stay. Before the period ended Victoria netted her 2nd and the team looked like it was going to run away with this one. However, B and B as we have seen before are a hard working team as well and fought back to within one goal before the 2nd period ended. The girl's played a solid 3rd with great coverage and limited the chances against. Our strong defence of Kelly Robertson, Taylor Ferguson, Ainsley Herron and Kenzie Hall were first on the puck all night and made great clearing passes or rushes to remove any pressure. Of course our last line of defence when needed, Tiffany Kewagishig made her usual nonchalent glove saves to preserve this victory. It was a great team win over a very chippy opponent as the penalties would indicate. Blyth took 6 to our one.Way to control those emotions girls! One thing I have noticed from watching girls and boys hockey is the difference in the speed of the game, those guys are just going to have to pick it up a notch!
