Close Game in Wiarton
Wow! A close game from start to finish in Wiarton against the Bruce Peninsula Northstars on January 12th, 2014.

Aiden de Vries and Braden Kahgee were on FIRE…each scoring two goals. Super offensive attack by our forwards this game! Aiden scored in the first and then again in the second period, both goals assisted by Braden Kahgee and Quinn Fowler. For Aiden’s second goal he came flying down the middle of the ice, grabbing the puck and firing straight into the net. That goal should have made the Sunday night highlight reel! Forward power supplied by Ismail Sirdar, Liam Kelly, Riley McMillan and Tehya Johnston kept the Northstars on their toes by digging for the puck. Ethan Walsh and Quinn Fowler were strong and steady with good positioning and several shots on net. Camden played a good offensive game, with a quick grab on a turnover he walked the puck in for a shot. Paydon Ritchie really opened up her speed to head off potential breakaways, cutting off angles and edging out charging Northstar forwards. Jack Bennett did a great job of switching directions, holding his position and using long strides to stay ahead of the play. Braden Kahgee scored both of his goals in the 3rd period. Braden’s first goal allowed us to tie up the game 3 - 3 assisted by Liam Kelly and Braydyn Roote. Great control of the puck from Braydyn this game. We were chasing the Northstars all game long and after a fourth goal from our opponents, Braden came through with his second goal to bring the tie to 4 – 4. Net-minder Kaden Vance had ice-water in his veins and stayed cool and calm, using his body to stop many shots. Nice moves Kaden! Northstars moved ahead with their 5th goal with 9.3 seconds left in the game. Final score 5 – 4 Northstars. A fight right to the finish! Submitted by Jen Fowler
