Storm take on the Ice Dogs in Paisley!
The second game for the Storm’s Atom Local League team at Paisley arena was a battle till the end.

Liam Kelly made smart offensive decisions and took a strong position in front of the net. Centre, Ismail Sirdar won almost every face-off taking control of the puck. Forward Cameron “Camo” Smith used his long strides to hold an offensive position with linemates Riley McMillan and Ismail Sirdar. Braden Kahgee did a great job carrying the puck up the ice. Defensemen Jack Bennett and Camden Ritchie didn’t give up and made a great defensive pair covering the ice with speed, power and great positioning. Paydon Ritchie, really cranked up her speed this game; she and Ryan Root worked hard to protect the net and each had some excellent blocks. Braydyn Roote had success heading-off the Ice Dogs and did a fantastic job of moving the puck forward. The first period was scoreless leaving the teams tied 0-0. The Ice-Dogs kept our goal-tender on his toes all game. With several great stick saves, net-minder “Krackle” Kaden Vance was able to direct the rebounds off to the side giving the defensemen a chance to bank the puck off the boards. In the second period, Arran-Elderslie scored half-way through the period bringing the score to 1-0. Ethan Walsh was a digger all game long, with excellent stick-handling up the ice. Aiden deVries got his workout chasing down Ice Dog attackers. Super speed all game Aiden! On the wing, Riley McMillan showed some great skating moves, switching directions quickly to follow the play. In a centre-ice turn-over in the second period, Quinn Fowler had a short lead on a breakaway and was able to get a shot off. In an effort to raise the puck, the shot went too high and cleared the net. Nice try Fow-dog! In the third period “Krackle” made a photo-worthy glove grab at 7:56. WOW! Tehya Johnson and Cyrus Roote both had excellent showings in the third to hold the Ice Dogs back. The second goal for Arran-Elderslie occurred with only a minute left in the third period bringing the final score to 2-0. Storm players look forward to their next game next Friday night, November 1st at 7:30 in Wiarton. Submitted by Jen Fowler
