Perfect Regular Season For Willy's Contracting
Willy’s Novice LL Team #2 head into the playoffs with a perfect record after going 16 – 0 during the regular season and 5 – 0 in exhibition games. Along the way there were a couple of 1 goal wins and a few two goal wins so it took a complete team effort to achieve this difficult accomplishment.
Wednesday night in Southampton they skated to a 5 - 1 victory over Saugeen Shores Tm#1 but the game was much closer than the score might indicate. Kayden Vance kept his net empty with some great goaltending until his team could solve the equally impressive goaltending of Jack Bennett at the other end. For his inspiring effort, “Krackel” earned 1st star honours and was presented the Digger Award. Joseph Anderson assisted by Joey Ackert ruined Krackel’s shutout bid with 42 seconds left in the third period. Scoring for Willy’s was Kaya Hall with two goals and an assist and Olivia Hall, Quinn Fowler, and Dylan Poulsen with one marker each. Spencer Sutter-Lammie contributed two assists. Playoffs will likely begin the 18th Feb but in the meantime there is a practice this Saturday 11th Feb at 1pm at The Plex and Wednesday 15th Feb at 5pm in Southampton.
