Willy's Contracting Make It Three Playoff Wins In A Row
Wednesday evening at The Coliseum, Willy's Novice LL Tm#2 played their third of four round-robin playoff games, this time against the Shallow Lake Tm#2, and came away with a surprising 9 - 2 victory.

These Lakers had only lost two games and were second place finishers during the regular season.  But Olivia Hall set the tone for Saugeen Shores, banging in a rebound early in the game from a shot taken by Spencer Sutter-Lammie.  The team is playing very confidently with every player displaying their individualism as well as getting the job done along the boards and in the corners.  The support everyone is giving their linemates was never more evident than that shown by forward Quinn Fowler.  He read the play time and again, backing up the forechecker and maintaining the pressure in the attacking zone. Quinn earned an assist and The Digger Helmet for his great all-around game.  Spencer was hot, firing 5 goals followed by Kaya Hall’s hattrick but it was their effective backchecking and breaking up the rush that probably frustrated the Lakers most. Even though Dylan Poulsen mustered up an assist he was one step away all game from having a big night scoring. A very good defenceman all season, Kaden Vance has taken on the responsibility as the team’s playoff goalie and has been an outstanding steadying influence, refusing to allow the opposition to mount any sustained offensive threat. Following the game Spencer’s Mother, Terra, decided to visit the hospital and she delivered a healthy baby girl. This may be a good time to strike a deal at Father Brett Martin’s Bicycle Shop in Southampton. See you at the next game Amelia.   Final game in the round robin is at The Plex on Saturday at 12pm vs Saugeen Shores Tm#3. Based on their playoff record so far it appears Willy’s will advance to the Championship series with their opponent yet to be determined.  Following the game on Saturday there is a scheduled practice on Wednesday 5pm in Southampton.
