Willy's Contracting Continue Winning Ways On The Exhibition Tour
Saturday at The Coliseum, Willy's Novice LL Team#2 played their fifth exhibition game to date without defeat.

Their opponent was a team playing out of the Owen Sound Novice HL. Saugeen Shores were advised by OS that their team would be of similar calibre to the one that visited last year and that particular game resulted in a 2 – 2 tie. This year’s Owen Sound lineup had 3 players who are also on the OS Novice Selects and one who plays on the AE team. Expectations were high for a tough game.

Spencer Sutter-Lammie scored two goals in the first minute of play and he would go on to register seven for the game.  Kaya Hall fired six including two assists for a productive afternoon. Kaya’s first goal was his 50th of the season to join Spencer at that coveted milestone. Braydyn Root demonstrated some of his own scoring prowess, notching a hattrick and earning two assists. Dylan Poulsen added to his season’s output with one goal and two assists. All three forward lines and defence had their opportunities. Emily Russett broke through and had a clear breakaway from the red line only to miss the corner by inches. Just back from an extended Christmas holiday, Ritchie Carter had a great game on defence and made a few end-to-end rushes only to be thwarted by the Owen Sound goalie. This strong showing earned Ritchie the Digger Award. Olivia Hall had a strong skating game and confident stickhandling by Quinn Fowler and Kaden Vance was nice to watch. AP goalie Jacques Lariviere was called upon to make a few difficult saves but Owen Sound were able to get two behind him in the second period. Two practices next week both in Southampton: Wednesday at 5pm and Friday at 6pm.
