Willy's Contracting Open Yr 2012 On The Right Foot
Willy's Novice LL Team #2 hosted the Bruce Peninsula Novice Tm#1 on Saturday at The Plex and posted a 10 -2 win.

Going into the game Coach Chris presented the players with a challenge.  Whoever chalked up the most passes would be presented the game’s Digger Award.  He felt his players were now ready to give a little more attention to this part of their development yet still have fun working on their individualism. They instinctively started to look for their teammates, making some pretty creative plays for their level. Kaya Hall centered AP’s Dustin Heipel and Caleb Eagen. Caleb was the beneficiary of a Kaya pass for his first Novice goal and Dustin is still shaking his head wondering how his shot to the top corner sailed over the net. Kaya scored two of his own and counted one assist but earned the Digger Award for most passes. Spencer Sutter-Lammie also showed his passing awareness and displayed some nice feeds to his linemates Dylan Poulsen and Quinn Fowler. Spencer fired a hat-trick and earned 2 assists with Quinn netting 2 goals, 2 assists, and Dylan 1 goal and 1 assist. Our girl power played confidently with Cali Drope picking up 1 assist but Olivia Hall and Emily Russett were not without their own chances. Steady defenceman Kayden Vance scored a beauty and was rock solid all game.  All the public skating that Zachary Leaver took advantage of over the holidays was evident. He seemed to have extra zip every shift. He earned an assist but was worthy of a few goals as well. Camden Ritchie also showed smarts on his shifts and was equally strong on defence and forward. AP goalie Jacques Lariviere may have let two get by him but he stopped his share as well. A couple of breakaways plus a great save on a penalty shot. Bravo! tres bien Jacques.  Exhibition game Sunday, (tomorrow) in Kincardine at the Davidson Centre. Game time 11am.

p.s. Every player had passes checked against his or her name.
