Win One - Lose One
The Saugeen Shores Legault's Independent Grocer Storm Midget AE's won their Thursday night game against the Ripley midget rep team 5-2 in a WOAA regular season game.
The Storm had a light practice in South and after a pizza dinner boarded a bus and travelled to Ripley to face the Ripley squad.
Opening the scoring was the Storm's James Besito on an unassisted goal at the 11 minute mark of the first. A minute later Spencer Schihl scored assisted by Colton Hall to make it 2-0.
The Storm added to its lead in the second with goals from Colton Hall assisted by James Besito and Chris Gundrum, Jacob Roote assisted by Ryan Crosetta, and Taylor Schihl with help from Justin Lamont and Ryan Crosetta.The second period ended with a five goal lead for the Storm.
The third period saw Ripley come on strong and a score a couple of goals but it was too little too late and the Storm won 5-2.
On Saturday night the Saugeen Shores Legault's Independent Grocer Storm Midget AE's hosted the Bruce Peninsula midget rep team in an additional WOAA regular season game at the Plex.
The North Stars scored first but the Storm tied the game a minute later on an point shot from Justin Lamont unassisted.
Bruce Peninsula scored one more goal in the first and two more unanswered goals in the second as they skated to a 4-1 win. CJ Arthur had a big game for the Stars scoring 3 of the goals and assisting on the fourth.
A rematch is scheduled in Lion's Head on Wednesday.
