Storm win game 3 but lose game 4 and OMHA Quarterfinals to Mooretown.

The Saugeen Shores Legault's Independent Grocer Storm Midget AE's travelled to Mooretown this weekend down 2 games to none in their OMHA Quarterfinals best 3 of 5 series.

Game three was played Saturday afternoon. The Storm opened the scoring in the first period when Stephen Pilar netted the rebound on a Justin Lamont shot from the top of the circle. The Storm took a one to nothing lead into the second period.

The Storm worked hard and were rewarded with 4 minutes left in the period when James Besito found the back of the net with Stephen Pilar assisting on the play. Two minutes later Colton Hall added to the lead on a great individual effort as he broke around the defense and deked the goalie. The second period ended with the Storm holding a 3 to nothing lead.

The third period saw Mooretown come out flying and scoring in the first 2 minutes of the period to make it 3-1. However, the Storm weathered the rest of the period until the 1:37 minute mark when being a man down, Mooretown pulled their goalie and scored a 6 on 4 powerplay goal to pull within one. With more than a minute left in the game, Mooretown again pulled their goalie to try for the equalizer but Greg McCulloch's clearing backhand found the back of the empty Mooretown net for a 4-2 Storm win.

Game four was played Sunday afternoon. Mooretown opened the scoring in the first period and despite out playing Mooretown and having scoring chances including driving the puck to the goal line and hitting some posts and a crossbar, the Storm could not score and Mooretown held on for the 1-0 win,

The Storm played well despite the loss and the players and coaching staff are to be congratulated on their hardwork and determined play. Good job everybody.
