Midget AE’s take game 1 in WOAA Lockridge Midget Rep Hockey final.
The Storm opened the series on the road in Teeswater on Sunday.
The Otters scored on their first shot, 15 seconds into the game on a blast from
the top of the circle for an early one to nothing lead. With just a couple of
minutes left in the frame, Justin Greig managed to bang in a loose puck in the
crease to tie the score at ones.
The score remained tied for most of the second period until Stephen Pilar, assisted by Colton Hall, scored to make it 2-1 for the Storm. Then with less than a minute left, Colton Hall setup Matt Teschke to take a 3 to 1 lead into the third.
In the third period the Storm played strong defense and stymied Teeswater at every turn. With less than 4 minutes left in regulation time Colton Hall got his third point of the game as he rushed up the ice and scored an unassisted goal giving the Storm a 4 to 1 win.
Game 2 goes Monday March 19 in Southampton at 8pm.
Go Storm Go.
