Storm Win Friday Night at Plex
The Saugeen Shores Legault's Independent Grocer Storm Midget AE's won their Friday night game against the Shallow Lake midget rep team 2-1 in a WOAA regular season game.
Opening the scoring at 11:18 of the second period was the Storm's Stephen Pilar bouncing the rebound off the back of the goalie's pad on a shot by Justin Lamont.
Shallow Lake tied the game on their only powerplay opportunity at the 6:54 mark of the second period.
The Storm regained the lead on an unassisted shorthanded goal at the 10:33 mark of the third period. Matt Teschke picked up the puck in his own end, stickhandled through a number of Shallow Lake defenders,and fired a shot past the goalie.
Both teams exchanged chances for the rest of the game but the Storm played hard and earned the win.
The last game of the WOAA regular season for the Saugeen Shores Legault's Independent Grocer Storm Midget AE's is scheduled for January 12th in Ripley.
