Storm Win in Chesley
The Saugeen Shores Legault's Independent Grocer Storm Midget AE's won their Friday night game against the Arron-Elderslie midget rep team 4-2 in a WOAA regular season game.
Opening the scoring was the Storm's James Besito blasting a shot that dribbled through the Arron-Elderslie goalie setup by Jacob Roote.
Arron-Elderslie tied the game at the beginning of the second period but less than 30 seconds later the Storm regained their one goal lead on a goal by Spencer Schihl assisted by Ryan Crosetta and Graham Langridge.
The Storm added to its lead on a powerplay goal on a point shot from Chris Gundrum setup by Taylor Schihl.
Again the Storm found itself going into the third period with a 3-1 lead. After killing off two penalties and with less than 40 seconds left in the game, the Ice Dogs managed a powerplay goal to get within one of a tie. But from the face-off the boys stormed into the Chesley end,established a determined forecheck until Stephen Pilar found himself in the high slot, his backhand went of the goalie to Justin Greig who got the puck to Taylor Schihl who found the back of the net with 13 seconds left in the game.
