Southampton Foodland/Carson Plumbing Novices victorious over ScotiaBank Novices
Monday night pitted two Saugeen Shores novice teams against each other at The Coliseum. Team #3 having already secured first place may have come into the game full of confidence however Team #1 were not conceding anything. In fact, they surprised the league leaders by winning 6 - 1 through an all-around good team effort.

Spencer, "The Bulldog", Sutter-Lammie was on a roll, firing 4 goals for his Texas hattrick. His offensive display combined with his defensive effort earned Spence the Digger award player of the game. The bulldog certainly carried the goal scoring end in this game but praise is also extended to all three lines and two sets of defence for their balanced contribution. Blake Shields netted a goal and an assist from the back end and with his defence partners Ray Hou, Amber Gallie, and Hunter Barnard controlled their zone. Jolina McLean again played steady goal and closed the door until midway through the third period when Skylar Pomroy broke in alone to take away her shutout. Mercedes Roote's positional play earned her a nice goal off a Kaya Hall's rebound. Other assists by Aiden DeVries with two and singles by Ethan Walsh, Kiki Kimewon, and Jared Kerr accounted for the 13 team points and it was just bad luck that Braydyn Root and Anthony Sarauz's names didn't find their way on the scoresheet too. Great team effort. Next practice Wednesday 2nd February at 7pm in Southampton.
