Southampton Foodland/Carson Plumbing Novices Play Well In Defeat
The TCDMHA Tm#1 handed the Saugeen Shores Tm#1 Novices a 4 -3 defeat Sunday morning at the Plex.
The team from Desboro played well enough to win and seemed to master the warm pucks better than the home squad could. The team manager has been advised that an oven is for cookies, pucks go in the freezer. Both teams relied on their goalies to keep the first period tied at zeros until Desboro opened the scoring early in the second period. Jolina McLean made the right move on the shooter but the puck found its way through the five-hole. This score stood up until the third period when Kaya Hall skated in alone and fired a beauty into the open left side. Desboro broke the tie with two goals to again go ahead but Spencer Sutter-Lammie came back with two quick ones of his own to tie it up. His first was set up by a nice pass from Blake Shields and his second was a nifty solo effort. It looked like a draw but with less than a minute to go Desboro fans erupted when their team netted the winner that Jolina never saw. Keyanna Kimewon was presented the Digger Award for her 110% effort throughout the game. Practice Wednesday at 7pm in Southampton.
