Novice LL # 4, 2009-2010 (Saugeen Shores Minor Hockey)

Scotiabank Novices lost their last game of the season by a score of 5 – 2 Wednesday night at The Coliseum. The Arran-Elderslie Ice-Dogs Team #1 captured the White Division Championship with the winning and consolation medals awarded on the ice by Kaye Holmes, Convenor of the WOAA Novice LL North Division. 

Arran-Elderslie drew first blood in the opening game of their final series against Scotiabank, winning 2 – 0 Saturday morning in Chesley.  Both teams exhibited great skating on the big ice surface and the goaltending was exceptional at both ends of the rink. Tatum Edwards delivered her usual steady performance in nets for Arran and Ayden Young matched her save for save at the other end until sniper Jordan Osborne broke free and found the corner on a great shot late in the first period. The Scotiabank LL Novices Team #4 won the third and deciding game against the SS Team #1 by a 3 to 2 score Friday night at The Plex. 

The Scotiabank Novices turned the tables on the Saugeen Shores Team #1 on Wednesday night at The Coliseum. After being shut-out Monday night, Scotiabank returned the favour registering their own blanking 1 - 0, evening the series at a game a-piece. The deciding match will be played Friday 19 March at 5:45pm in Port Elgin. This was only the 2nd shut-out that Team #1 had against them this year. The first one was coincidently also by a 1 - 0 score and handed out also by Scotiabank during the regular season. Both teams hadn't seen the ice in over a week. The question was who was it going to affect the most. From the result, the break certainly had no ill effect on Team #1 as they skated to a well deserved 3 - 0 win Monday night at The Coliseum. Unfortunately, history again repeated itself for the Scotiabank team when they find themselves away from the ice for a lengthy period. Their success is not determined by one or two individual performances as they draw their energy from one another and it seems when they haven't been involved for awhile it reflects in their balanced play.
