Home Hardware/Dunlop Fuels Novice BB started the New Year with a convincing  9-3 win. Hard work and team play were key in this convincing win over the Kincardine Kinucks on Friday night.  
Home Hardware/Dunlop Fuels Novice BB started the New Year with a convincing  9-3 win over Kincardine on Friday night.  The Kinucks opened the first period with 2 quick goals. The Storm came back late in first to tie the game with goals from  
Trevor Donaldson and 
Justin Marlowe  (assists to 
Cameron Lightfoot and 
Sam Maksymyk). 
Kincardine regained the lead minutes into the second period but 
Jack Middleton answered by going end to end to tie the game once more.  Storm wingers 
Ben Lalonde and 
Austin Fewster  continued to pressure the Kincardine goalie with many scoring opportunities.  The Storm's defense lead by 
Nolan Dereski and Jack Middleton, continued to play strong along the boards and clearing the puck from our end.  Late in the second, the defense cleared the puck up to Donaldson who deked the goalie and scored the go ahead goal.
The Storm dominated the third period with Donaldson and Marlowe each scoring 2 goals.   
Kiandra Martin rounded out the scoring with her first goal of the season.   Defensive team of 
Isaac Fewster and Lightfoot were impressive blocking shots and shutting down the Kinucks.  
 Tarik McKay played a solid game between the pipes.  The Storm's hard work and team play resulted in a 9-3 win.
