The Home Hardware/Dunlop Fuels Novice Rep travelled to Mitchell Friday night for an evenly matched game against the Meteors.  The game was scoreless for over two periods when the Storm's
Ben Lalonde passed the puck up to
Jack Middleton who slid the puck by the Meteor goalie. Meteors answered with two goals late in the third and took the win 2-1. The Storm played a hard fought battle and demonstrated great team effort by all.
The Mitchell Meteors travelled north to Port Elgin for a rematch Sunday afternoon.....
Mitchell's Jacob MacPhee open the third period with a goal off the faceoff and put the Meteors ahead 4-2.  Justin Marlowe played a strong two way game and was able to score two goals within 30 seconds to tie the game 4-4.  The Storm forwards Austin Fewster, Sam Maksymyk and Kiandra Martin worked hard to keep the puck in the Meteor's end.  With two minutes left in the game, Middleton passed the puck along the boards to Donaldson who went blocker side on Mitchell's goalie.  The Meteors weren't done yet and scored two quick goals.
With two minutes left in the game, Donaldson weaved through the Meteors and found the back of the net.  With the game tied, the Storm's Cameron Lightfoot continued digging hard along the boards and popped the puck out to Marlowe.  Marlowe drove hard to net and scored the go ahead goal with 1:39 to go in the third.  Mitchell's Jake Preszcator finished his hat trick seconds later and tied the game once more.  With 19 seconds to go in the game, the Storm's defence passed the puck up the middle to Donaldson.  Donaldson deked the goalie and scored his third goal of the game with a backhanded shot top shelf.  The Storm won 8-7.
The Storm returns to Mitchell Friday December 19th @6:55pm.
