The Port Elgin Home Hardware/ Dunlop Fuels Novice Rep team defeated the Kincardine Kinucks 8-3 in their first WOAA exhibition game on Saturday at the Kincardine Davidson Center.
After only two practices, the team led by Coach Paul Martin, played a terrific two way game with lots of forechecking and some solid play in their end. Leading the scoring for the Saugeen Shores Storm was Trevor Donaldson with 4 goals. Jack Middleton and Justin Marlowe each added two goals each. Assists going to Donaldson(2), Middleton(2), Lightfoot, Dereski and Martin. Saugeen Shores had strong defensive plays by the Fewster brothers, Lalonde, Maksymyk and solid goaltending by Tarik McKay. The Novice Rep team’s next action will be an exhibition game in Walkerton on Saturday October4th @11:00am.
