BDO Dunwoody Atoms lose home opener
On Friday night, the BDO Dunwoody Atoms played their season opener against Kincardine at the Plex.  The biscuits were flying thanks to a donation of game pucks from Scoreboard Sports Too.

The 1st period stayed scoreless as Saugeen Shores was able to kill off two penalties with strong defense from Tristan Rajendra, Harrison Alvarez, Hayden Duplantis and Michael Bohnert.

Kincardine came on strong in the second scoring two quick goals in under two minutes in the middle of the period.  But the Storm refused to quit and were able to even the score by the end of the second.  Paul Leger scored a spectacular goal by diving to reach for the puck and put it past the Kincardine goalie.  The 2nd goal was scored by Brendan Morano on an assist by Eric Langridge.  Strong playmaking by Michael Fiegehen and Chris Gilbert helped to keep the Storm in the game.

In the third, the Storm scored the go-ahead on a goal by Leger, his second of the game.  He was assisted on the play by Tyler Donaldson and Langridge.  Kincardine did not give up and scored to even the game on a power play.  Despite a solid game in net, Jack Flarity was unable to hang on to the tie for the Storm as Kincardine scored with under a minute to go in the game to win 4-3.  This weekend the Storm is in action both Saturday and Sunday at the Plex.
