Eager to get on the board first, Coby Stanley potted the first marker of the contest, on a pass from Tyler Muzzel and Taylor Cameron just :19 seconds into the period to give SS #1 the lead. This set the tempo for the game as both teams gave it their all, with end to end play and numerous scoring chances. With 3:06 left to play in the period, Austin Henry took a pass from Taylor Cameron and blasted goal #2 for a 2 goal lead. With just :16 seconds left in the period, Blane Roote fired a wrist shot to give the Storm a 3 goal lead with assists to Cameron and Coby Stanley.

The Storm hosted Wiarton on January 17th with both teams displaying a great deal of talent and determination. After a half a period of play where both teams traded numerous scoring chances only to be stymied by solid goaltending (Olivier Caudle for the Storm and Cameron Glover for Wiarton), the Storm broke the deadlock on a boomer from Ben Walker, assisted by Ben Vecchies. This seemed to raise the intensity for both teams, however at the end of the period the score remained 1-0 for the home squad.

The Storm traveled to Drayton to participate in an invitational tournament and came home with the Consolation Championship after 3 very exciting games on January 10, 2009. East Lambton struck first with 3:35 on the clock in the 1st period, however the Storm answered less than a minute later to tie the game on an unassisted marker by Blane Roote. At the end of one frame the score remained deadlocked at 1 goal apiece. Similar to period one, East Lambton struck first, this time just :30 seconds into the period. The Storm hosted Saugeen Shores Storm #2 on December 21st in a very even and entertaining game that ended in a 3-3 draw. SS#1 struck first with Harrison Williams scoring an unassisted marker with 4:10 left on the clock in the first period. Both teams tried their best to score more however Olivier Caudle and Joey Seymour were outstanding in goal and closed the door on their respective opponents.

The Storm hosted TCDMHA #2 on Saturday, December 6th and were keen from the drop of the puck. Josh Stewart potted the first goal of the game at the 5:48 mark of the 1st period assisted by Stephen Butcher. Following great action at both ends of the rink, the score remained 1-0 for the home squad at the end of the first frame.
