Storm was host to Bruce Peninsula Predators #2 on Sunday morning. This was a great game played by all the Storm players who really played hard on the ice. Talan earned his fourth shutout of the season with a great effort in net.
The first period we saw no score but both teams were playing
really well and we saw some great skaters on the ice for both teams. Sabra really stood out right away with her
great determination to get the puck off the Predators and then skate with it
once she got it. Lilly was looking to
show off here stick handling skills and did so several times throughout the
game. Liam awesome was working hard
along boards and picked up a few rebounds in front. Brennan continues to get better ever game and
really showed us here that he is skating well and wants the puck on his
stick. Andy had another great
performance as he was getting after loose pucks and at one point the coaches
thought he was going to set up an office in front of the net smacking his stick
on the ice to tell his teammates he was open and in position.
It wasn’t until 4:21 of the second period that we saw any
scoring and although The Predators knocked it in their own net Wes got credit
for the goal as he was the last Storm player to touch it. Caleb
and Wes continued to work well on the ice digging hard and skating very well
with the puck but also coming back to help the defence in his own end and helping
to get it out of our zone. Nick was an
animal playing with Jack, the two of them where great defensively but didn’t
shy away from getting into the rush but always got back to their blue line when
they lost the puck. Zach and Devin where
very defensive out there and really where fantastic at moving the puck out of
our end, Devin even had a couple great rushes himself but the both of them
skated really well for the team today and where a big part in the shutout
victory.
Wes netted another maker at 7:35 of the third and then again
at 7:08 on a nice wrap around to complete the Hat Trick. Caleb earned an assist on a nice goal from Jack
at 3:14 and then scored himself picking up his own rebound at 2:59.
What a great game each and every player played. It was very hard to find one player to give
the digger award but at the end of the conversation we all agreed that Nick
could keep it again after his great performance on the ice. Congrats to Talan on his fourth career
shutout as a Novice goaltender.
Next Game 5pm in Owen Sound at the new arena. See you all there.
