Storm rolls through Chesley Dec 21st
The Storm traveled to Chesley friday night to face off against the Ice Dogs.  This will prove to be a great game for the team as they defeated the Ice Dogs 5-0 with another shutout performance by Talan.

We started out a bit slow as The Ice Dogs took it to our end for the first shift, but the players kept on fighting and finally moved the puck up the ice.  The play stayed there until 6:29 of the first when Zach moved the puck off the boards to Sabra out front, she made no mistake and hammered it home on a beauty shot to put her team up 1-0.

The Ice Dogs stayed in the game and The Storm had to fight in all parts of the rink.  We saw some great puck movement from our 3 defencemen Devin, Caleb and Wes who continued to rush the puck but then get back into position on the blue line.  Jack kept their goalie in check by testing him several time with his great skating and Zach had some great two way play as he was digging in the corners getting loose pucks and getting back to help the defence and always taking the puck away just before The Ice Dogs could shoot.  The wingers where great as well Liam, Sabra, Andy Nick had great games and where in fighting hard for the puck, getting out front of the net and most importantly going after the Ice Dogs when they had the puck and making them give it up. At 1:35 of the second period it all payed off as Jack netted one to his relief and Liam picked up the assist.

In the third it was still a good battle as The Ice Dogs where down by 2 but kept in the game.  At 3:18 of the period Jack netted another one as Nick picked up the assist this time.  Less than a minute later Caleb got another unassisted as he deeked out the goaltender on a beauty move .  As the period died out Caleb picked up the loose puck in the slot and netted another marker  with 3 seconds left.  Great game team!!  You all played great and it is a perfect way to enter the Christmas break.

Talan earned the game puck for his 3rd Novice shutout.  Sabra was the recipient of The Digger Award as she was fantastic all game and probably played her best game all year so far.

I wish everyone the best over the Christmas Holiday and hope Santa is good to all of you.  Please remember there is lots of public skating to take advantage of over the holidays and please do.  Can't wait to see you all in the new year unless I see you at public skating.
Merry Christmas!!!!!!
