Novice BB Start season off on the right foot.
The Weekend of October 12-14 was a very busy one for the Port Elgin Home Hardware/Dunlop Fuels Novice BB Storm with 3 regular season games on tap.
Our first game friday night was not to be though, as problems with the ice making equipment at the Coliseum caused us to cancel and reschedule our game vs the always tough Mt. Forest Rams.
Then came Saturday afternoon in Palmerston. It was during this game that our whole team began to show confidence and natural ability. With only 8 skaters every player had to and did give 110% every shift. Which resulted in a 3-1 decision for the good guys. Goals were scored by Calean Macdonald with a pair and Joey Ackert with the single.
Again on Sunday confidence was high in the dressing room and players were pumped to get another shot at the Palmerston Mad Dogs. And boy did they not disappoint. With absolutely stellar defence by the pairings of Jacob Thornley & Adam Perry and Jarrett Trumbley & Dylan Poulsen we were able to hold the Mad Dogs at 3 goals. Our offence then took over with 5 goals scored by Calean Macdonald, Joey Ackert (2), Olivia Hall and Adam Perry. Assists went to Kennedy Stauffer( who made a beautiful pass from the corner to Olivia) Jarrett Trumbley, Dylan Poulsen and Joey Ackert. Up next for the Port Elgin Home Hardware/ Dunlop Fuels Novice BB Storm Is the Hanover Falcons. Game time at the plex is 1:30pm Sunday Oct 21.
